How to Make Crock Pot Sausage, Green Beans and Potatoes

We have updated this post with with a cooking show video.

I remember the first time I ever had this recipe. It was actually the stovetop version. Michael and I had just started dating. Truth be told, I am pretty sure he was just trying to impress me. Well, it worked!I can’t even count the number of times we have had this over the almost four years of our marriage.

You all know how much I love my crock pot, so I couldn’t resistcRockin’ this recipe.

It is still as easy as the stovetop version from Michael’s bachelor days, but it was great for when I worked outside of our home. Instead of making it when I got home from work and having to wait for it to get done, I could throw it together before I left for work (or better yet, have Michael throw it together!) and have it waiting for me when I arrived home after a long day of work!

What Readers Are Saying

Reader Joan H. says: “The first time I made this, didn’t know if I would like or not (I love) I used my small one quart crock and amazed how good it was. I guessed at how much ingredients to use, and it turned out great. I now make it in my 2 quart slow cooker, and guess how much of the ingredients to use and have never been disappointed. I now have at least two meals from this. How I love this.”

Reader Jawahn says: “The best and I always cook sausage and potatoes as a weekday family dinner for two nights. I put 50/50 polish keilbasa and hot links!!”

Reader Tresa S. says: “My husband made this, and it was amazing. Will definitely be making again!”

Reader Lisa says: “My family loves this recipe! I make it at least once or twice a month. Super easy for my family of four. I do not change a thing, I cook it in my crockpot as is. Thank you for a great recipe.”
Reader Vicki T. says: “For anyone reading through comments to get an idea if you should try this recipe if it’s your first time seeing it, YES! MAKE this one. You will be happy. Reader Barbara P. says: “We just love this and we make it pretty often, thanks!”

Ever had a recipe “get away” from you? My Wife and I found this recipe on YouTube, and right next to this recipe was someone else’s which had potatoes, carrots, cabbage and kielbasa. So we decided to combine the recipes. Along with a couple extra items. Somehow, our 10 Qt. Crockpot ran out of room, so we switched to an 18 Qt. Electric Roaster. lets see…5 lbs. potatoes, 2 lbs. baby carrots, 2 large onions, 2 large green peppers, 3 lbs. Cabbage, 1 lb. mushrooms, 2 large cans sauerkraut, 40 oz. green beans, and 4 packs of kielbasa. 5-1/2 hrs. at 250F. Came out perfect ! We’ll be changing/adding ingredients next time we make this. Thank you very much for this recipe.

Gonna make a ”version” of this next week.
Bought Andouille sausage and Kielbasa , red potato’s ,Italian cut green beans and a big onion.
Like my meat with a bit of a kick.

As start ”crockpotting” 15 months ago (found yer site at the same time) have made countless
    recipes found on your site.
Some exactly as written, some I experiment with, not one disappointed! 😉
